Rhodes Cemetery
Butler County, Alabama
This cemetery survey was taken April 30, 1992 by Lucile Smith Stinson, Bridgeport, TX.
Located south of Ebenezer East Cemetery and east of Gravel Hill Cemetery, the Rhodes Cemetery is located on private property of Union Camp Lumber Company (now International Paper). Without the assist of a Union Camp employee we would never have found it. The cemetery is in such bad condition that only 2 tombstones are visible. One still stands upright. The other is broken and can only be read by the tracing of a finger in the letters to determine what is written. The cemetery is overgrown with weeds and briars. The graves in such a disarray that what mounds of dirt once covered the graves have now formed sunken holes
