Daniel Cook Probate
State Of Alabama - Butler County
To the honorable S. J. Bolling Judge of Probate of said county.
The petition of W. J. Wilson, administrator of the estate of Daniel Cook of said
county deceased, respectfully represents unto your honor that the said Daniel Cook, dec’d
Seized and possessed the following names slaves, towit: Bill, Rachel, Mariah, Abby
And her three children towit; Washington, Alaripa and Allen, Caroline, Ellis, Simeon,
Edward, Thomas, Crocket and Frances. He further alledges that a sale of said slaves
is necessary for the division amoung the heirs and distributes of said estate whose
names are as follows towit: Sophia Cook widow of said deceased, Albrena Wilson wife
of W. J. Wilson., Robert H. Cook, Ellen C. Rouse wife of W. P. Rouse, Calvin Cook, Martha
Cook, Alonzo Cook, Adella Cook, and Christina Cook, the last five mentioned are minors
and all resides in Butler county Alabama except W. J. Wilson and wife who resides in
Montgomery County, Alabama. He therefore prays your Honor to grant an order authorizing
and empowering him to sell said negro property in order to make a distribution amoung
said heirs in all of which is respectfully submitted.

I hereby consent to be appointed guardian adlitem for Calvin Cook, Martha Cook, Alonzo Cook, Adella Cook, and Christina Cook and deny all and singular allegations contained in the foregoing petition and require further proof.
