Dear Sister
I recieved (sic) your card of inquiry yesterday evening: Willie was here and I gave it to him
and insisted on his writing you. He stayed here last night & I insisted on his going to S. School
with the children and he went from there to your mama's. Willie looks well & seems very well
satisfied. I think he has had one little home sick spell. We are real proud of him think him a
good boy. My baby thinks Cousin Willie belongs to him he has been sick for several days and

would not let anyone but mama do anything for him - except occasionly he would call
on cousin Willie
Willie seems to feel quite at home with us and I believe I should be real Jealous if he did
not devide time to suit one. So far he has staid a good deal with us. Ma, Willlie, Floy, Henry,
Porter & I started the 5th of this month to Florala but Porter got sick at Oakey Streak and
we went across to Brantley to see Missey & I brought him home all the way round by Troy-
Union Springs & Montgomery on the train to keep from traveling in the sun with him.
Porter has flux & Henry has fever Willie was right sick one day. I think

he ate too much melon and took cold from sleeping in galery at Buddie's. I feel
toward him like he was my child I love him and want you to feel sure if anything happens to
him I let you know. Take no news as good news. Ma stood the trip better than any of us is
perfectly well - left her at Missy's The boy came home friday evening. Effie has a visitor
from Mobile Miss Jennie Allen. We gave them a lawn party friday night in her honor. They
seemed to enjoy it immensely. They are receiving callers this evening. 8 young men
have already called. She is quite an attractive girl

Will is all right and is preparing for examination. You know all applicants or new
pupils are examined just before school opens so they may be properly classed. Will is a
good boy & I discover no bad habits in him. We all like him & will do anything
we can to keep help him along in his studies. Our love to you all.
Truly yours, H B Pilley
