Notes:  Rachel Bates Kern was the grand daughter of James Seale.  She lived from 1832-1926, all of her life in Greenville.  An interesting note: her husband, Simon Kern was Jewish—from Germany.  They did not practice Judaism in Butler County.  She was my ggg grandmother.
