Written on back of what appears to be the last page of a
letter from sister Henrietta Shine.
Undated - prior to 1896, year of Queenie's death.
Dear Brother
Etta and Queenie left Teusday eavening and I am all alone except the children Mr Pilley is engaged
in a political campaign. I've been right sick for a week but no chance to rest. I am all
the dependence at home, have every responsibility to shoulder alone. Mr P is not making a thing
except his actual expenses. His office buisiness is neglected. I don't know we are me and
the children are to live on politics I don't love them. Hope you are all well by this time and
doing well. Write ma often. She is so uneasy about you. Write to us soon & often
Love to all M A Pilley
