Dear Sister

As this is a regular family letter I guess I must write you a few lines.  I am sorry you are not well.  I saw your mother in Greenville the(?) first(?)/fourth(?) of July(?) (line blurred by worn fold of letter) and She told me you were not at all well.  Sis Annie is in the same row for stump(?) She will not be well again before Oct or Nov.  She suffers a great deal was not able to come home when Bro John and the children came.  I felt real sorry for her she wanted to come so bad and was not able to make the trip.  She has not been

here since you were here. her baby is a fine child two years old next Dec.  Papa named him Charley Green they call him C. G.  Sis Minnie & Mr Bradwell have taken a boy to raise his name is John Colbert he is right Smart but gives them a good deal of trouble he has never known what it was to be any body there fore doesn't want to be any body.  Our protracted meeting begins the fourth Saturday in next month.  we expect to have Bro Cox of Greenville with us at that time.  Im kinder dreading it. for I know if he comes Ill have him to wait on most of the time and tis(? - last line cut off by copier)

dont know what I'll give him to eat.  District Conference is in SesSion now at Ft Deposit.  Pensacola District Conference will meet at Georgiana next week Mama wants to attend if Papa is able for her to leave him, She says if it wasnt for Papas bad health she would certainly see Texas this winter.  I want to go awful bad but wouldnt leave Papa to go any where.  I have done more hard work this year than I ever done before in my life and its telling on me too.  just as we got ready to go to chopping cotton the man we had hired quit us and I had to take his place.  I stayed in the field from the first of

April until the first of July But we have a pretty by it and I feel like I would be repaid for my work.  Mama has been real stout this year She has done almost all the cooking and been going to the field too.  We have some real nice new neighbors. living in that little house on the road above our house they are Mcferrins he renovates beds & mattresses.  We like them very much.  They have three children Maud. Ina & Birdie.  Maud is almost a young lady.  Sister write to us when you can.  I am always to hear (sic) from any of you much much love to all from Queenie.
