Undated list of Confederate wounded in Hospital of First Division, 20th Corps, Army of the Cumberland, at the battle near Resaca, Ga.,  May 15, 1864.  Injured in both legs, gunshot.  Mortal.  (This entry was with Josiah H Mullins, but there were several J Mullins in Co F of the 18th. )

Pensioner - widow Martha Mullins, signed 'x' 7 Mar 1893:  personal property (clothing) worth $20, June 1899; also 26 Mar 1891, 1892, Aug 1887.  Taxable property consists of nothing 1896 & 1898.  On 1899 statement, reports he died 10 May 1864.  On 9 Jun 1899, Augustus Murphy witnessed her application, saying he was personally acquainted with Josiah Mullins.  Also on 10 June 1899, A C Sims witnessed the application.

Respectfully returned to the Commissioner of Pensions, State of Texas, Austin.  No account has been found of service?, capture or parole of a man named James ? Seale as a member of Company F, 18th Reg’t Alabama Infantry, CSA.

 

The records show, however, that one J A Seales, private of the organization mentioned, enlisted Aug 2, 1861 at Butler Springs and that he died Jan 4, 1862 at General Hospital, place not stated.

 

Our records also show that one <illegible> Seale or Seals, private same company and regiment, enlisted August ? 1862 at Greenville, Ala.

Mar 10? 1915  Respectfully returned to the Commander, Camp Jeff Falkner, 1302?, UCV Montgomery, Ala.  The records show that Thomas Seals ( < 1 word > not found as J T Seals) private Co F 18th Regiment Ala Inf Confederate States Army, enlisted Aug 30, 1862 at Greenville, Al.  On the Company Roll for Nov-Dec 1862 last on file, he was reported present.  No later record of him has been found.     H? William J Watts, Pvt Co F, 18th Al, of Monroe County, Confederate Pension Application 10 June 1899:  enlisted 1st? July 1861 at Butler Springs; cannot make a living on account of old age and disease; age 71, P.O. Awin, Al.  Property:  76 acres in Monroe Co., (Sect 24 TWP 10 R11) value $100 and 1 house, value $25; no personal property listed.  Service attested to by W E Coleman and J G Booker on 31 May 1899.  He signed his x mark.

 

His age was 71 on 10 June 1899, but on 10 June 1880 census, he was 51.

 

His widow Sallie filed application 20 Apr 1903;  he died 24 Oct 1899.  J G Booker and W E Coleman attested to her state as widow.  She owned no property real or personal.

 


Wilson Murphy, Jr, 2nd Lt, Co D, Capt. McKee’s Co, 33rd Al Inf, age 21.  Company muster roll dated 7 Apr 1862Enlisted 10 Mar 1862 at Greenville by D McKee for period of 3 years or the war.
