[Partial copy of Deed Bk 2, p. 284, Chambers Co., AL, 1 April 1853] William F. Samford to Garrett Morris State of Alabama Chambers County This deed witnesses that Wm. F. Samford and Susan L. Samford his wife of said Count and State in consideration of twelve hundred and thirty-seven 70/100 dollars to us in hand, have ....and hereby convey unto Garrett Morris, his heirs and assigns, to have and to hold in fee simple forever, the following parcel of land to wit: one hundred and three acres and twenty rods, according to survey of Michael Nixon made on 19 March 1853, lying broadside of Thomas Gott's (?) and said Morris' original east/west line and bounded on the east by the rodad from Oak Bowery to Auburn- on the west by the crop fence lying between the two fields lying between the Auburn and Farmville rads- on the west by the Farmville road to the ford of the branch, thence down the branch bya line run by said Dixon to a corner, thence to a corner, on the line between Henry ... and said Samford. And we do herby warrant the titles to said land and bond ourselves to defend it against the lawful claims of any persons whatsoever. Witness our hands and seals this the 1 st day of April A. D. 1853.
