Born January 6, 1780 (Old Christmas Day) in Virginia.
Married 1799 to Miss Catherine Harvey of Augusta, Georgia.
Migrated to Tennessee, then back to Georgia.
In 1822, moved to Crawford County, Georgia.
Member of First Inferior Court in Crawford County.
Elected to the Georgia Legislature for nine consecutive years.
First Moderator of the Echeconnee Baptist Association.
Migrated to Chambers County, Alabama prior to 1834.
Helped to organize several early Baptist churches in the county, also the
Liberty and Beulah Associations.
First Moderator of the Beulah Baptist Association in 1838.
Moved back to Crawford County, Georgia, late 1840s.
Died June 28, 1859, in Crawford County.
In 1925, a tombstone was placed at Salem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in
his honor, but many historians believe he is actually buried at Mount Paran
Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Crawford County.
