He was 25 years old at the time. He was born and raised in Fredonia, Chambers County, Alabama.

This is an old photo of my Jacobs family from Chambers County.
The man sitting on the steps is my grandfather, Charles Sherard Jacobs, Sr.,
he's holding his son, Charles Jr., and petting his dog Mac, who was determined to show his best side.
Sitting beside him on the steps is his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Posey (Sherard/Sherrod) Jacobs.
Standing on the ground next to the steps is my grandmother and wife of Charles Sr., Jessie Hill (Smith) Jacobs.
She is holding their son, Jesse Emmett Jacobs.
The family of four standing together on the steps have not been identified as of yet.

As you can see the date 1920 was written on the photo.
I don't know if this house in the photo was in Chambers or Troup County.
The photo was scanned from a small photo inside a family album owned by Charles S. Jacobs, III
