Penton One Variety Cotton Club 1949 Chambers County, AL
This picture represents the organizational meeting of the Penton One Variety Cotton Club for the year 1949, held in Penton Clubhouse. These cotton planters were named Alabama State Winners in the annual cotton improvement contest by the Extension Service at Auburn. Pictured left to right standing are: E. L. Stewart, County Extension Agent; Robert Horn, Assistant County Extension Agent; and Walter Scott. Seated left to right are: Herbert J. Day, Club President; Cleetus Mann, Vice President; and Fred Davis, Secretary-Treasurer.
