To the Hon Henry F. Scruggs, Judge of the Orphan's Court in and for
said County. the petition of James Hair, administrator of all
and singular the rights & credits, goods & chattels which
were of Burwell Stallings, late of said county, deceased, intestate,
respectfully represents, that the personal property belonging to
said intestate's estate is not sufficient to pay and satisfy the
debts due and owing by said intestate's estate and the expenses
of settling the same. Wherefore he prays, your Honor to grant a
decree ordering a sale of the lands of which said intestate died
seized and possessed, which are as follows, viz: the East half of the
North West quarter of Section twenty five Township eighteen of Range
three West lying and being in said County and in the
District of lands subject to sale at Demopolis. And your petitioner
further sheweth that William Stallings aged about fifteen years
Eliza Stallings aged about thirteen years Nancy Stallings aged about
eleven years and James Stallings aged about eight years and
Mary Stallings aged about four years are the minor children and
heirs of intestate. That Rebecca Scott wife of Isaac Scott late
Rebecca Stallings is the widow of said intestate. And that they
are all residents of said County. Wherefore your petitioner prays
that notice be given to said heirs to appear and show cause if any
they have why said decree should not be granted. Octr 20th 1842
