WILKINSON, 85, DIES AT ITASCA HOME
Hillsboro, December
28-J.P. Wilkinson, 85, Civil War Veteran
and pioneer settler of Hill County, died at his home in Itasca,
Sunday afternoon. Funeral services were held this afternoon.
Deceases was born in Livingston, Alabama in 1840. He served 4
years in the Civil war in Forrest's cavalry. After the war, he
moved to Grimes county. Sometime later he moved to Hill county
and took up his residence near where the town of Blum is now
located. Sixteen years ago he moved to Itasca.
He is survived by his widow Mrs. F. A. Wilkinson of Itasca:
three children, Robert Wilkinson and Della Mobley of Itasca, Dan
Wilkinson of Handley; one sister, Mrs. Rodia Riblsey of Bedias;
and two step-sons E. H. Wilson of Hillboro, Hill county sheriff
and John Wilkinson of Cleburne.
