Will of}                          The State of Alabama, Sumter County
Wyatt Harper}                   I, Wyatt Harper, of the County of
Rec'd in office and}             Sumter and State of Alabama, being of
probated & recorded this}       sound mind and memory and considering
23rd of January 1865.}         the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life do therefore make ordain and publish and declare this to be my last will and testament that is to say first after my lawful debts are paid and discharged the residue of my estate real and personal I give bequeath and dispose of as follows to wit.
1.  first to my beloved wife Sophia Harper three slaves, Hannah and Harriet and Charles to have and hold as she sees proper.
2.  second, to my daughter Sophia E. Harper two slaves Caroline and her child Wash &
3.  Third } to my son Lewis P. Harper one slave Dock
4.  fourth } to my son Zack C. Harper one slave Allack and I give bequeath and devise all the rest of my estate to my children or their heirs who may be living at my death to be divided equally between them share and share alike.
Likewise I make constitute and appoint my friend Stephen Horton executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
In witness I have hereunto subscribed my name & affixed my seal this the 6 day of November AD 1864.
