Israel Levi BAXTER

Israel Baxter, b 1762, was a Revolutionary War Veteran that moved from Georgia to Greene County, Mississippi about 1816. Israel Levi Baxter, William Nobel Baxter, Abel Baxter and James W. Baxter are likely the sons of Israel Baxter, b 1762 in NC, and Delia ?, b abt 1781 in GA, and grandsons of Theophilus Baxter, b abt 1740. They later settled in and around Washington, County, Alabama.

While a Theophilus Baxter, b 1777, son of William Baxter, was known to have moved to MS abt 1810, I do not think this line is connected to mine. However, my Israel Baxter, b 1762 may have been first married to Levicy (Lucy?) Baxter, who was the daughter of William Baxter and sister to Theophilus Baxter, b 1777. From this marriage, another Israel Baxter and James O. Baxter may have been born and this line is known to have moved to Florida.
