Rollie F. De Garmo

Rollie Frank De Garmo, a well known rancher of this district came to California in 1894, and after finishing his education in Williams Commercial College, at Pasadena, he engaged in farming near San Gabriel, moving later onto a fifty-three acre tract near El Monte. In 1899 he moved to Long Beach, where he conducted a dairy for four years. He then returned to El Monte and engaged in the dairy business and raised alfalfa. He later installed a pumping plant for irrigation on his ranch, and for a number of years, engaged in vegetable raising, leasing extra land adjoining his own.

Mr. De Garmo was married to Miss Renfro, a daughter of George B. Renfro, El Monte Pioneer, whose sketch is found in these pages. To Mr. and Mrs. De Garmo were born three children; Alva of Oakland, Glen of El Monte, and Velma Sharon, also of El Monte.

Several years ago, Mr. De Garmo left El Monte, and at this time resides in Los Angeles. He is a member of the Lexington Masonic Lodge, El Monte, and also the Lexington Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Politically, he is a Republican.
