ROSE HILL CEMETERY - RIFLE - SECTION C
Section C, Rose Hill (Rifle) Cemetery, Rifle, Garfield County, Colorado

Donated May 8, 2001

The Rose Hill Cemetery is Rifle's largest and main cemetery. The first
burial was in 1896. Several 'residents' were moved from older cemeteries
to Rose Hill so there are tombstones dating from 1893.

The Moose Cemetery joins Rose Hill on the west and until recently was
operated as a separate cemetery.

The formal Rose Hill Cemetery lot system runs from #2 (the oldest) to #48
(the newest). The area that would be section #1 contains a pumphouse and
maintenance shed. To aid in my transcription, I have divided the cemetery
into 14 areas (A-L). The Moose Cemetery was transcribed separately.

Section/Lot 4 "Charity Area" (My section C)

There are many unnamed metal markers in the charity area of the
cemetery. There are no well-defined rows, so I transcribed this area
from the bottom of the hill up.
