A number of books have been published about Moffat County and its residents. Do you own one you would be willing to do lookups in????????? Please put your name here!
Kathleen Anderson I do not live in Moffat Co. I am in CA and never even been to Colorado but quite a few of my family members settled in Craig, CO it seems just before 1910. I have been researching the area for several years tracking my family history. I am wondering if there is any of my info that might be something I could share? I have read microfilm for the Craig Courier from 1920-1931. I do mean READ as I gleaned the paper for items that expressed the times and flavor of the community as well as folks I am researching and copied quite a big binder of material. My mother who is just shy of 80 yrs old was born and raised in Craig and has great memories. Her father for a time was a deputy and night marshall, my GGrandfather was water commissioner and from time to time wrote a commentary or story for the newspaper. I do not know what help I could be to you but let me know if there is anyway I might be assistance.
I can do lookups in the following books that I own:

Historic Highlights of Moffatt County and Surrounding Areas by Harold R. Babcock

Craig Colorado A Pictorial History 1889-1990 by Daniel K. Davidson

Where the Old West Stayed Young by John Rolfe Burroughs
Pam Russell I do own a copy of two not-very-common books and I would like to volunteer to do lookups in those books. They are "Blue Mountain Folks" by Doris Karren Burton and "Where the Old West Stayed Young" by John Rolfe Burroughs. I have a personal interest in Moffat County in that my mother-in-law was born in Craig and lost her mother a few weeks later to the flu epidemic of 1918. My mother-in-law's parents were homesteading over in Bear Valley aka Bare Valley, west of Craig. My mother-in-law's autobiography is available online at her granddaughter's website at http://www.hildenbrandt.com/ then click on the link for Frances Russell's autobiography.
