Sarah Collins, daughter of John Collins Governor of Delaware from 1821/1822. Granddaughter of John Hall Governor of Delaware from 1802/1805.

Founder-President of Wesleyan Female College in Seaford,Delaware. It was an all female Seminary.

1837 He moved the school to Wilmington, Delaware.
1853 School became property of Philadelphia Methodist Conference and changed to Wesleyan Female College.
1853 He started Louisville, Kentucky Female College and was the President until his death in 1876. His wife Mary continued as President.
1855 Charter was granted to award college degrees.
