Mona W Brown

Mona W. Brown passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the Milford Center. Mona was born and raised in Owenton, Ky. daughter of the late John and Maggie (Stafford) Wash. She lived in Owenton until moving Milton in the 1950's. Mona was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family, enjoyed watching NASCAR and was an avid reader. She was also a member of McColley's Chapel. In addition to her parents, Mona was preceded in death by her husband, Knoulton "Junior" Brown, Jr., in 1996; and her three siblings, Margaret James, Allen Brooks Wash, and Patsy Sherman. She is survived by two children, Bonnie B. Smith and husband Richard, and Dwayne A. Brown and wife Pauline, all of Milton; two grandchildren, Dana and Ty Brown; a brother, James "Jimmy" Wash and wife Shirley, of Owenton, Ky.; her grand dog, Ammo; and a host of extended family and friends. A funeral service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 22, 2015 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal Street, Milton, with visitation after 11 a.m. Burial will in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton. Flowers are accepted or contributions can be made to McColley's Chapel, 7 S. King Street, Georgetown, Del 19947
