Earl W. King Age 74 of Milton, DE, died Tuesday, March
14, 2000 at home.
Earl was born in Georgetown, son of the late Clyde King and Emma Hudson King
Vent.
He was a member of the Goshen United Methodist Church, Milton, the Milton VFW, a
past member of the Milton Lions Club, and a member of Endeavor Lodge #17
A.F.A.M. He was also a former member of the town council in Milton and a Little
League coach. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Shawnee Country Club in
Milford. Earl was the founder of King's Homemade Ice Cream Shops in Milton and
Lewes, retiring in 1988.
He was a US Navy veteran serving as a radarman on the aircraft carrier Vella
Gulf during World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Wanda Clendaniel King; children,
Benjamin E. King and Thomas L. King, both of Lewes, Sandra K. Flynn of
Churchville, PA; a brother, Medford S. King of Milton; and 7 grandchildren,
Lindsay King, Cassie King, Chelsea Spoor, Ryan King, Molly Flynn, Conor Flynn
and Maggie Flynn.
There will be a service 2 pm Saturday, March 18 at SHORT FUNERAL SERVICES, 416
Federal St., Milton, where friends may call after 12 noon.
Interment will be in Goshen U.M. Church Cemetery, Milton.
