JAMES W. PONDER - SARASOTA, Feb. 10. - (Special) - James W. Ponder, 74-year-old prominent Sarasota county pioneer, died Sunday at his summer home at Ventnor, N. J. He was a son of Governor James Ponder of Dalaware, and came to Sarasota in 1911. He was chairman of the Manatee County commission in 1921 when Sarasota became a seperate county.
