Pauline Emily West Powell

Pauline Emily West Powell, age 83, of Selbyville, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.

She was born Feb. 25, 1928, in Frankford, daughter of the late, Elmer and Emma (Banks) West.

Pauline was a de­voted and loving mother to all who graced her door. She will be missed and remembered by many.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ollie C. Powell; grandson, S.Sgt. Walter Cohee, III; her sisters, Agnes Melson, Madeline Hickman, Marcella Corby and Mattie Vickers; and her ex-husband, Ollie R. Powell.

Pauline is survived by her children, Jeanne Cohee and her husband Walt, Jr. of Mardela Springs, Md., and Alvin Powell and his wife Coralee of Ocean Pines, Md.; a foster daughter, Courtney Davis of Baltimore, Md.; grandchil­dren, Ollie C. Powell of Ocean City, Md., Kris and Heather Cohee of Mardela Springs, Md., Stacy and Eileen Powell of New Jersey, Kelly and Peter Varney of Salisbury, Md. and Nora Sue Powell of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; great-grand­children, Christy Lathie and Marina Cohee of Mardela Springs, Md., Bradley Sherman, Lilly and Mathew Varney of Salisbury, Md., Owen Powell of North Carolina, Rhyan and Hunter Powell of Virginia and Morgan Powell of New Jersey. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews in Delaware and North Carolina.

A funeral service will be noon, Saturday, Sept. 24, at the chapel of Melson Funeral Ser­vices, 43 Thatcher Street, Frankford, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Banks Family Cemetery in Millville.

In lieu of fl owers, the family suggests contri­butions in Pauline's memory to Delaware Hos­pice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
