Oliver P Thayer

Oliver P. Thayer, 79, of Milton, passed away Friday Oct.
10, 2011, at Christiana Medical Center.
Oliver was born in Wilmington, the son of the late Howard and Laura (Oscar)
Thayer.
At the age of 18, he began living with the Martin Black family in Milton and was
an aide to the family until his death. He enjoyed doing outdoor tasks and
gardening.
Oliver had also worked in the Housekeeping Department for Beebe Medical Center
for 24 years, retiring several years ago.
He was a member of the Eagle's Nest Fellowship Church in Milton.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his foster family:
Martin, Jane and J.L. Black and Herman Black.
His survivors include his caretaker's family: Candy Jennings and children Buddy,
Robert, Jean and Debbra; friends Pat Netz, Bill Jennings and Duane Wingrove; one
sister, Frances Hughes of California; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 12, in the chapel of Short
Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton where friends may call one hour prior.
Burial will be in Goshen M.E. Cemetery, Milton.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Eagle's Nest Fellowship
Church, 26633 Zion Church Road, Milton, DE 19968.
