BEDINGFIELD. I am researching the Bedingfield line in Jefferson/Washington/Baldwin Co.  After 4 years of researching, I found that my 3rd great-grandfather, John Bedingfield, died in Baldwin Co. in 1811, and left a will in Will Book 1, and his wife, Harriet, remarried in Baldwin Co. in 1812, listed in the Marriage Book for that
period of time.  I would like to contact anyone in Baldwin Co. who might be able to help me confirm this information.  If you know of anyone, could you please let me know?  Unfortunately, I don't have information

BOYER. My name is Carla Boyer, I currently reside in Michigan.  I am in the process of discovering the Boyer family geneology.  My gradfather, Ernest Boyer was born in Milledgeville in 1908 to Johnnie Boyer and Mollie SPIKES.  His Grandfather's name was Porter Boyer, believed to be the son of the plantation owner with the same surname.  These are the people I am in search of.  This is were I come to a dead end.  I realize that at this point Porter would of been listed as property, but I don't know how to go about finding this information.  If you could help, please contact me Carla Boyer (Nov 98)

CABANISS.  I am seeking death information on Luther T. Cabaniss, died about 1940-1943.  His wife was Bessie.  I understand that he died in a mental institute in Atlanta, Georgia, however, they lived and are probably buried in Milledgeville, Georgia.  Could someone please look this up in a "Death Index" to find his death record... and supply me with information as recorded.  Also, are there obituaries available, if so, could someone pleasehelp me acquire a copy?  What cemetery are they buried?  Your help would greatly be appreciated. CLAIRVILLE.  Walter b Jan 1842 in Quebec, Canada brought to Milledgeville when  8 years old to live with relatives. COUSINS.Looking for information on the ancestors of Green & Elizabeth COUSINS: Green COUSINS was b. ABT 1795 and his sister Elisabeth b. BEF 28 Dec 1799 (Moses BABB's will).  In the 1810 Chatham Co. census there was a Elizabeth COUSINS, b. 1765-1784 with a female child b. 1800-1810.The will of Moses BABB of Chatham County, NC, dated December 28, 1799, "Give and bequeath to Elisabeth COUSINS forty shillings current money and Green COUSINS forty shillings current money by there grandfather by cutting out their mother of her part". From the census records of Chatham County, NC we know that Moses did not die until between 1800 and 1810.  We also know that other BABBs from the Chatham County area (particularly a William BABB) migrated to Baldwin County, Georgia in the early 1800’s, and that Green COUSINS enlisted as a private in the Georgia Militia from Baldwin County during the War of 1812.  He served three separate periods: October 2, 1812 through April 17, 1813; August 20, 1813 through March 9, 1814; and December 12, 1814 through March 8, 1815. HALL. I am looking for documented information   about my ancestor Mariah Elizabeth Hall who was born in Milledgeville, 1825.  Her parents were, allegedly, Leonard Hall and Mary ROBERTSON.  The mother died ca 1824/5 and the father soon after, to the best of my knowledge.   Sorry I do not have any more vitae on Leonard and Mary.  Leonard is supposed to be the brother of Bolling Hall, and they are Rae supposed to be sons of Hugh Hall OF Virginia.  Mariah removed to Alabama and married in the home of her uncle, Bolling Hall in Alabama.  She married E. S,  Walkley, a Connecticut school master who came south to begin schools in Alabama. I am inquiring on this page because portions of Hancock were formed into Baldwin Co. Who were the parents of record for Mariah Elizabeth Hall.  Any documentation Leonard Hall and Mary D Robertson?

MILLER/BERRY. Martin MILLER married Elizabeth BERRY in 1820, Rockingham County, NC, but had moved to Ga by the time of their daughter, Susan Ann's, birth in 1826 Milledgeville.  Martin was said to have had a  large plantation, and shipped his cotton to NY via Pensacola, Fl.  He was an Episcopalian, while Elizabeth became an avid Methodist.   Susan Ann was sent to school in Milledgeville, and she went by horseback, so this indicates that they lived fairly close.  Their was another daughter, but her name is unknown to me.  Susan Ann married Reuben Bullard in Commerce, MS in 1841, and they finally settled in Wheeling, (W)Va.  I am searching for any information on Martin MILLER, wife Elizabeth BERRY MILLER and their life in GA.  Sandra Ferguson

MOORE. Seeking information on Elijah MOORE, born 1778 possibly in either Somerset Co., MD or Kent Co., DE, and d. 09 JUL 1836 Baldwin Co., GA. There is a Elijah MOORE, age 34, in Co. 2, 1st GA Rangers listed in 1812 WAR GA Military Records, Vol. I and a Elijah MOORE listed in 1820 Greene Co., GA Census.  Have found information on two possible MOORE family lines which Elijah MOORE could possibly be descended (1) Isaac MOORE, b.ca. 1731 Somerset Co., MD, m. ca. 1752 Elizabeth HEARNE Somerset Co., MD, d. MAY-DEC 1784 Somerset Co., MD.  They had a son Elijah MOORE who married a Elizabeth (Betty) GORDY and migrated to GA ca. 1820. Betty (Gordy) MOORE died 1838 in Muscogee Co., GA; and (2) Isaac MOORE Sr., b. ca. 1750/60 Kent Co., DE, d. POWELL. Was wondering how I can find information about a GA congressman from Rome, GA circa 1865.  I only have his surname, Powell.  I am hoping to get this information for a fictionalized story I am doing about my grandmother's grandmother.  I have listened to the stories for years and am curious about this man and his family.  The Congressman had a home and property in Baldwin County.  My grandmother's grandmother was the illegitimate daughter of this congressman born in 1865 in Milledgeville.  When her husband left her circa 1895, she went to the Powell family and ended up working as a nurse for a doctor relative.Any information or leads would be greatly appreciated. PRIDGEON, NATHANIEL--Nathaniel was born in Montgomery Co., N. C. in 1806 and while he was young his family moved to Balwin Co., Ga. according to his life's history told in a serman he preached before he died. PULLY, My gg grandparents were found in Baldwin, Salem Dist, Milledgeville in the 1860 Census.  His name was Thomas Pully, age 30 and his wife, Nancy Aikens Pully age 19 and their 1 year old daughter Martha Rebecca.  The story goes that Thomas was a soldier in the civil war and was wounded and his wife went through the northern lines searching for him.  She found him in a hospital where he died and she brought him back on the train, sitting on the coffin. Thomas Pully's occupation was an Overseer before the civil war.  Any information anyone has would be appreciated.  Thanks! Nancy

YATES. I am looking for information on a Willis YATES who was married to Eliza MORAN in Milledgeville, Baldwin Co, GA.  In 1822, letters were being held for Willis Yates at the Milledgeville post office.  In 1830, Willis Yates was listed in the Upson Co, GA census; however, in 1840, his widow, Eliza YATES, was head of family in Upson co, GA.  this Eliza had a 10-15 year old male in her household whom I believe to be my ancestor, also named Willis YATES.  My Willis YATES married Sarah Ann DAVIS June 29, 1848 in Upson Co, GA and appeared in the 1850 census there with an unnamed infant, probably William J. Yates.  This family moved to Columbia Co, AR sometime around 1854.  If anyone can identify the children of Willis YATES and Eliza MORAN, I would be very grateful. Earlene Lyle (Nov 98)
