I am looking for help in a genealogical search for my family. My greatgrandfather was b.June 5,1845 in Jones,Co. His name was James Michael Moore. His father was William F. Moore. They migrated to Dooly Co. before it was divided. I know James was buried in present day Crisp Co. and served in the 45th Ga. Volunteers in the Army of Northern Va. but can't trace back farther than William F. Moore. Don't know anything about him. Would appreciate any help. James was married to Cordelia Ellen Broach. One of their son's was Carroll Augustus Moore, my grandfather,b. Nov.1887-d.1974. He was married to Loma Oddessa Wiggins from Butts,Co. b.March 1894-d.1968. Their 9th son,Gene Talmadge Moore, b.June 27,1937-d.March18,1984, was my father. Any help finding info about James Michael Moore and his father William F. Moore or Ellen Cordelia Broach would be appreciated.

Researching Dawson (Doss) Avary/Avery and wife Hattie MOSELEY Avary and their descendants. Married Columbia Co. 16 Sept 1873. Both died 11 Dec 1922 Cordele, Crisp County. Children listed o1900 Census Dooly Co. Rosa L born 1877; William F born 1879;Haywood born l882; Jessie B born l885; Learce (Louise) born l889.All children appear to have been born Cordele. Another daughter, Annie Dell administered estate l922. Annie Dell married C H LANG; Rosa married AA Smith; Haywood is listed withe wife Bula l900 census. I have seen AVARY as AVERY and also as AVERA. burial location on both "Doss" and Hattie Avary illegible. Unable to locate any information out of either Dooly or Crisp county. Dawson Avary was s/o of Ambrose Jones Avary and Sarah Rebecca Atkinson.

They are my Great Grandparents and parents of John Olin Jones (my grandfather), born in the Mystic/Fitzgerald area 03/18/1900. John Olin had four siblings, Thurston (oldest) died as a result of WWI gas; Dewey; Bertha (2nd oldest, m. to a Dumas); and Louise (youngest). John E.'s wife ____ Worrell, is believed to have been Danish born.

My wife's Father was Laroy Jefferson LYNCH, b. Aribi, GA 11.3.1890. He married a Myrtis MCLENDON in Aribi on 9.12.1909. She was from up in Pike Co.. I have a copy of their Marriage Licence. Laroy was one of nine children in the family of Jefferson Davis Lynch who I think came to Georgia from NC but I have not found him there yet. I used to know where Laroy lived along the road leading north from Aribi but someone has cut the tree down. Also there is a cemetary west of town that I visited once but I could not find it the last time I was there two years ago.

Also Robert Taylor Smith and his wife Della Pound. They are buried in Cordele and are my great grandparents. Any help will be greatfully appreciated.

My grandfather S. B. CHRISTMAS (I don't have his full name) lived in and possibly was born in Crisp Co.. His children were Cecil, Marvin B., Irene, Christine, and my father Harvey J. (aka Chris). I need info on a James Durgan Baker(1862-1935) who was married to Lena Bell Smith(1870-1950) James mother was C.Ann Beach Chapman. She died around 1924 or shortly after and is buried somewhere in Talbot County. James and Lena had 12 children..my paternal grandmother, Mattie Lou Baker (1895-1991) who was married to Clayton King White (1893-1971), (they were married in Cordele), Johnnie, Willie, Effie, Charlie, Sammy Neal, James Dugan,Jr. Mozart, Jewel, Lola Etienne, Sally Emma, and Woodrow. Any info is much appreciated.

Betty Sullivan, was also born in GA. Rasmus had a brother, Donald Radford DILLARD, living in Collins, Tattnall Co., GA; at the time of his death, March 1, 1926. It is believed, he also had a sister, name unknwn. In 1919-1920, Rasmus m. Lillie Maude (THOMPSON), b. Nov. 4, 1899, in Dooly Co. area, GA. The families lived in Dooly, Pulaski, Dodge, Macon, Peach, & Crisp Co., GA.

Searching for relation to William Green BROWN, b. ? Dooly Co. GA.; m. Mattie Lee (?), b. ? Dooly Co., GA. William has 3 sons, Joseph (Joe) Franklin, Thomas (Tom), & Robert (Bob) BROWN. Joe was b. 07/29/1884 in Dooly Co., m. Lillie Maude (THOMPSON-DILLARD) b. 11/04/1899, on 07/13/1926. Lillie d. 12/26/1951, and Joe d. 12/06/1977. The family lived in Pulaski, Dodge, Macon, Peach, and Crisp Co., as well as throughout Dooly Co., GA. Joe worked for the Southern-Pacific rairoad, and also as a night watchman for various property owners. Joe & Lillie had several children in addition to the Dillard children Joe raised, including a son, Joseph (Jody) Marion BROWN, b. 09/03/1939.

Looking for any DeWitt families that there ancestor was in the 1821 land lottery.One Lewis(Louis)DeWitt that drew land in Dooly county 1821, At that time he was in Pulaski County.He died in January 1825 and left some land to be divided between his children. Zilphia DeWItt, Henry DeWitt, Robert DeWitt, John L. DeWitt, James DeWitt,Elenor DeWitt. Any one with any info.on this please contact me.
