WAYNE  CO.,  IL

1840  FEDERAL  CENSUS

This project was transcribed (read) by my sister, typed by me (Dainna, Coordinator), proof read by Jeanne, Linda, Carol, and Sandy.  Then it was submitted by me, the copprights include all of us.

I would like to say thank you to my sis ...  Even though she lives in SC and I live in IL,   we spent hours on the phone to do this project.  She would read the microfilm and I typed it in.  A few times she would transcribed the film image and sent it to me via email.

We dealt with a lot of errors, of which is why I say "THANK YOU!!" to the volunteer proof readers, Linda Humphrey, Carol Hamilton, Jeanne Delaney, and Sandy Bauer.  Boy!  If you saw the 'fix it' pages I got from them!

All the same, thank you everyone that helped and that will be able to gain information by using this census for their research.

After the 1830 and 1840, I swear I will never do another census!  As I told the volunteers, "if I even think of it, take my computer away!"!!  ha!!

I hope this helps someone...  that is the goal and makes the hardship worthwhile.

Dianna Williams
Coordinator,

The Beginning of the Census
