-DEATH OF JAMES SKELTON
James, son of William Skelton, was born at Falmouth, Ky., March 23, 1833, and died in this city at 3 a.m. Saturday after a lingering illness in his 78th year.
He came to this city from Hendricks county, IN., when but ten years of age, where he resided most of the time since. He was a member of Company K, Seventh Indiana Infantry and spent some four years in the service of his country. Mr. Skelton was a Democrat in politics and served several terms as councilman from the third ward, always strongly Republican. He had been a member and regular attendant for many years of Hamline M. E. Church. He was twice married and is survived by his second wife.
The funeral was held from his late residence on Monday afternoon by Rev. C. D. Wilson. Burial in Greendale Cemetery.
-Census of Dearborn Co., shows his mother as Elizabeth Skelton. Maiden name unknown. James 1st wife was Laura A. Strong. married Aug. 20, 1865 bk 10. (2nd) Sarah Hunt Sept. 2, 1888. Book 15 Pg 450. James is buried in section 34 H 148 and between both wives. CW Pension Record # 92655

Committed to Central Insane Hospital, Indianapolis IN. April 10, 1910, then transferred to Craigmont at Madison until her death. Fitch Bros Funeral Home held services on Saturday afternoon. Rev. C. D. Wilson Officating.

-ANNA FALDERMAN, Beloved Citizen, Called to Rest
Death claimed Mrs. Anna Falderman, beloved citizen of Twentynine Palms, last Sunday noon. "Mother" Falderman, as she was intimately known, passed on at the age of 65 years, following a lingering illness. She died at her home at Twentynine Palms, where she has resided for the past 10 years, occasionally visiting her son, Sam Bailey in Pasadena.
Mrs. Falderman is survived only by her son Mr. Bailey, who is with the Pasadena police department, and who also owns a desert home near that of his mother.
Funeral services will be at the Little Church of the Desert tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. Dr. C.D. Williamson will conduct the rite. Music will be in charge of Herbert Gray, director of music in the local schools. Mr. Gray will sing the "Lord's Prayer." Th high school chorus will sing hymns that were favorites of Mrs. Falderman. Mrs. Ruth Nicholes will accompany at the piano. Wiefel & Son of Banning are the morticians in charge. Burial will be in the Twentynine Palms cemetery immediately following the church service.
Anna H. Pellas was born May 1, 1875 in Dillsboro, Indiana. She was married to Charles E. Bailey in 1892, Mr. Bailey also a native of Dillsboro. Her latter husband Mr. Frank H. Falderman preceded her in death in 1913.
The gracious Mrs. Falderman served a great part of her career as a nurse and at one time was head nurse of the Indianapolis, Indiana, orphanage for 12 years. During the World war she devoted her time to nursing and caring for soldiers in the Fort Benjamin Harrison camp at Indianapolis. Because of her son's participation in the war as a soldier she was not permitted to register in the capacity of an army nurse.
Mrs. Falderman was a member of the local Legion Auxiliary unit and a member of the Little Church of the Desert at Twentynine Palms. The local Auxiliary unit will have charge of the services at the graveside. The Desert Trail joins her multitude of friends in heart felt sympathies to the bereaved Mr. and Mrs. Bailey and family.

Mr. & Mrs. Sam Bailey and her aunt Miss Marie Doleshal were out from Pasadena making arrangements for the funeral of Mr. Bailey's mother Mrs. Anna Falderman, which will be held tomorrow in the Little Church of the Desert at 3:30 pm. They will return again Saturday morning.
Anna Falderman is in Section 6, Lot 11, Grave 2, of the 29 Palms Cemetery.
Anna's 2nd marriage to Frank Falderman is my (Kay Skelton Blanton) 3rd cousin. He is the son of Barrett A. and Nancy Ellen Skelton Falderman who are my Great Uncle & Aunt.

WILLIAM A. HURD
Funeral services for William A. Hurd, 59 years old who died Thursday morning at the deaconess Hospital, following a brief Illness of Pneumonia will be held tomorrow afternoon at the residence, 1821 Olive St. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.
Mr Hurd who is a traveling Salesman for the Smith, Day, Chair Company at Indianapolis, became ill Monday at Evansville and was brought to Indianapolis Wednesday night.
William is my (Kay Skelton Blanton) 3rd cousin & the husband of
Georgiana Falderman Hurd. He lived in Dearborn County prior to his move to Marion Co.

We again make our appearance to our readers, and with joy announce the glorious tidings that the cholera, which for many days spread terror and death over our fair city, has disappeared. The last case occurred on the 13th inst. But since the issue of our last paper, many, alas! Many of your citizens have gone to their long homes. Great, indeed, has been thy work, oh! Dreadful scourage, and God comfort the friends of the departed ones.
