Carl D. Eberhart, 69, former vice president of the Dayton board of education and retired distributor for the Sucher Packing Co., was pronounced dead on arrival at Good Samaritan Hospital at 3:50 p.m. yesterday.
He had suffered a heart attack shortly before while working in the yard at his residence, 1980 Burroughs Dr.
Mr. Eberhart served five years on the school board, resigning as vice president in 1946.
Associated 21 years with Sucher Packing, he retired in 1944.
Mr. Eberhart was a council member and treasurer of the First Lutheran church and a former president of the Dayton Lutheran Laymen's League and the Mercator club. Active in YMCA work, he was chairman in 1955 of the organization's world service roll call here.
He was a native of Lawrenceburg, Ind.
Surviving are his wife, Wilhelmina; two daughters, Mrs. Jean Becher of Zanesville and Mrs. Anne Wilson of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and six grandchildren.
