ISADORE L. HARRY, city treasurer of Lawrenceburg, Ind., is a son of George and Josephine Harry, who were born in France, came to the United States in 1853, and are still living. Our subject was born November 6, 1853, was reared in Dearborn county, Ind., attended the common schools and, at the age of thirty-two, learned the trade of wood carving, at which he worked until he went into his present business, that of grocer, etc.

His first term as city treasurer began in 1891, and to this office he was re-elected in May, 1894, and also in May, 1898. He was married in January, 1875, to Miss Celestia Wehrling, a daughter of Gustave Wehrling, of Dearborn county, and six children have resulted from this union, of whom one is deceased. The survivors are Gus, Lottie, Celestia, Elmer and Carl L. The family are all members of St. Lawrence`s church and in politics Mr. Harry is a democrat. He owns his residence, and grocery next door in connection, has been very successful in his business career, and has ever been active in promoting the progress of his party, with which he is extremely popular, and in the counsels of which he is a potent factor. As city treasurer he has performed his duties well and faithfully, and to the entire satisfaction of the public.
