Pauline Regina, daughter of Eberhard and Loretta Leffler, was born in Manchester township, Dearborn county, Indiana, Oct. 13, 1854, and departed this life Sept. 26, at the age of fifty-eight years, eleven months and eight days. She was baptised in infancy, and at the age of fifteen years she was confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran St. John's church at Hubble's Corner.
She leaves four brothers, Charles A. of Iowa, Louis N. of Illinois, Henry E. of this place and August A., with whom she made her home for a number of years. She leaves a large number of relatives and friends to mourn their loss. Rev. Mr. Kittle being at Dayton, O., and failing to get here in time for the funeral, the burial rites were read by John H. Stier of Aurora.
The funeral services will be held later.
Through all pain at ties she'd smile,
A smile of Heavenly birth.
And when the angels called her home
She smiled farewell to earth.
Heaven retaineth now our treasure,
Earth the lonely casket keeps.
And the sunbeams long to linger
Where our sainted sister sleeps.
