I am seeking information of Sylvester TURNER who was born in Ohio Co IN in 1831. By 1855 he moved to Elizabethtown, Hardin Co., IL where he married Eleanor A. Matingly. I believe his parents (unknown) came from Pennsylvania to Ohio Co. According to his military application into the Army he knew Ohio Co. had split from Dearborn Co. and became a seperate county, either because he lived there at the time in 1841 or he still had kin there to keep him tied to the county. If anyone can shed light on the parents of a Sylvester TURNER, I can share what happened after he left Ohio Co. I'm in the dark for the time period prior to my gr-great grandfather's migration to Illinois.

I am seeking the whereabouts in Indiana of Henry Collins and his wife, Deborah Beach, prior to 1831. Henry Collins purchased land on section 29, Randolph Township, Dearborn County (later Ohio County) Indiana in 1831. Census of 1860 shows children born in New York State and some born in Indiana. Apparently came to Indiana somewhere between 1814 and 1818. Also would be interested in leads as to what part of N.Y. he was from. Deborah Beach was from Connecticut, was born in 1793, died in 1868 in Rising Sun. Henry Collins was born in 1784 in N.Y., died 1840, buried in family plot near Poorhouse Hill in Randolph Twp. Russell HARRIS lived in Randolph Twp in 1830 census. I believe this is same man as Caleb R HARRIS I found in Randolph Twp 1840 census (see my other query). I seek to confirm that this Caleb R HARRIS had sons Marcus, born 1826, and Mansin, born about 1837. Marcus named his first son Caleb Russell Harris. Marcus bought expensive MO farm in 1858.
