I am searching for the ancestors of Jacob Daniel Powell. He was born in Kentucky but I don't know where. He had a brother Tom and a brother Fount. He married Sara Catherine MEADOWS who was born in Bowen, Powell County June 26, 1876. Her parents were Jacob Meadows and Sarah Ann Booth. According to family history they lived in Livingston County for a time in the late 1800's but I have been unable to find any account of them being there. Jacobs father was either Jacob Daniel, Senior or had the initials G.W. I have been told both by older members of the family. Jacob, Catherine and Catherines brother John left Kentucky around the turn of the Century and went to Oklahoma. Jacob did not like it there and came back to Blytheville, Ark. before settling permenantly in Jonesboro, Ark. around 1920. He and Catherine are buried in Jonesboro. If any one can offer help on the names of his parents I will be eternally grateful. I have reached a dead end every where I have searched. I also have info on the Meadows family I will be happy to share if anyone needs it. ANTHONY posted by Larry Anthony on Tuesday, October 14, 1997 Major Joseph J. ANTHONY, fought at the battle of Ft. Sanders, KY. Where is that? He fought with Gen Jackson during the Creek Wars. Anthony settled in Randolph Co., AR and was elected to the first session of the state legislature. He was killed on the floor of the house over a dispute with the speaker of the house. He was stabbed with a Bowie knife and died instantly. I have not been able to locate any information on this man. The 1890 Goodspeeds stated he was a defender of Ft.
