I am looking for information about Perry MC CALLISTER and his wife Parthenia ADKINS MC CALLISTER. They were married in Cabell County WV on Aug 25, 1858. They had one son born in WV in 1862 then I believe that Perry inlisted in the CSA in WV. They don't show up again in Wv until the 1880 Census of Mason County WV they now have 4 more children Jackson born Ky 1868 Jennie born Ky 1870 Mary F born 1872 Ky and William H 6 born Ky. Can someone please tell me where in Ky these children were born? Also why do you think they went into Ky from after 1862 until 1874 or after. Here is what I've been told but unable to verify..Born 5-13-1899 in Elizabethtown, KY to Confuscious and Annabel WOODYARD, Siblings Susie and Chester. He was married to Grace Delong (Denzin) abt 1928-1930 in Davenport,IA. Supposedly his sister Susie lived there then. "Woody" & Grace lived in Cleveland, OH and had 1 child Lois Ann born 1-23-1934. I am in search of the father and mother of Zachariah TALBOTT, b. 1815 in ? County, KY, m. Eliza Jane HALL on 14 Apr 1836 in Fayette Co., KY. witnesses were Nancy TALBOTT, and a William HALL, father. This Zachariah TALBOTT appears on the 1840 Census for Lexington, IE b: 6/1852 in MO and son b. 10/1879 in MO I need to find out who is Zachariah's father: this is the correct lineage, but William and Ann TALBOTT of Virginia had 3 sons and a dau. J. Daniel TALBOTT being his eldest, w/a story of moving on to Kentucky prior to 1878 could be his father. Or Richard and Margaret TALBOT's older sons could be his father. Eldest is a Samuel m. to Sarah WELLS, and Jacob m. Nancy MCKINNEY on 4 Nov 1815. Richard and Margaret's younger children were named Absalom and Zachariah. This Zach was m. 3 times with documentation still in Virgina Census, and was within 2 years of the Zachariah TALBOTT I am searching for. This Absalom m. Elizabeth YOUNG on 5 Dec 1823 in Philippi, Harrison Co., VA and reportedly died not to long after that. Now you see my delima. 2 Zachariah's and 2 Absalom's, same lineage, but to which father was the later of them? Sorry for being so wordy. Sincerely stumped in Texas. Can anyone assist me in finding who the parents were of my great grandparents? My ggf was John Hurd born in 1877(Va). He married Ann Click. I was told that they maybe buried in Floyd County. The funeral home used was Floyd Funeral Home. On my mothers side the only information I have is my grandparents. Mont Collins married June Dillon and lived in Surgarloaf near Prestonburg. I am seeking information on William H. Hardin/Harden, born 1805 KY. County is unknown at this time. All I know about his parents is that his mother's name was Elizabeth. William H. Hardin married Elizabeth Counce. Do not know where or when they married. In 1830 they were on TN census with one young son named Calloway, less than five years of age. To my knowledge the name Calloway has never been used by anyone in the Hardin line again. However, the name William is used in every generation. I would like to correspond with anyone having anything to share about the Hardin line in KY.

Looking for information on Benjamin Franklin HOPKINS (1812 NC - 1862 MS) and Sarah Elizabeth HYATT (1812 KY - 1892 MS). They were married in KY in 1831 - Where ????? Sarah came from KY. Ben's family apparently had lived in KY for a few years. I do have a "rumor" that Sarah was part Cherokee. Is this true?? Ben and Sarah "Sallie" had 11 children. Of the 11, 4 were born in KY: William A. HOPKINS b. 1832; Benjamin Franklin "Frank" HOPKINS b. 1835; John I.C. HOPKINS b. 1837; and Mary Jane HOPKINS b. 1840. The family moved to MS in 1840. Does anyone have any information on where this family might have lived in KY and who Ben and Sarah's parents were? Almost all the information I have list Sarah's maiden name as HYATT, but one source did list it as HYALL.

I am looking for some information on my grandfather, John Lester Montgomery, who was born(, I assume in KY) around 1889. He lived and worked in (a distillery) around Clarimont KY just prior to 1914 and then lived in Sheppardsville at the time my mother was born to Sarah Elizabeth French Montgomery and her husband, July 1914. At some point they moved to Louisville and my grandfather was found shot to death Oct 1933. The death certificate says "body removed to Clairmont, KY", I found no obit and can not locate the grave. I searched 2 or 3X the only public cemeteries located in that town--no stone & no records. I have reason to believe his father was James Montgomery and have NO other information on James. I know Lester (as My mother referred to her father) lived in Jefferson Co., in 1910 and the census say he lived with Harrett 69 yr old illiterate female. In researching the Ayers family of Indiana, I have found that my earliest known ancestor Washington Ayers was born in Kentucky. At this time I have no knowledge of the county or date; however, it would have been about 1815. He married a Nancy Whitehorn, a Native American Indian, also born in Kentucky. Sometime prior to 1839, they migrated to the Seymour area of southern Indiana and had four children: Henry, Amanda, Mary and William. The family name and many descendents still remain in the Seymour area today. Others have migrated to other areas in Ohio and the west. If anyone can be of any help in providing insight into the who, what and where of Washington Ayers and Nancy Whitehorn, it would greatly be appreciated. Likewise, I would be happy to share what I have if it would be of any assistance to others.

My great great grandfather was John McGehee who was born in 1810 in Tennessee. I know nothing about him or his family at all. He married Sarah ? who was born in Ky in 1810 (this all from a 1850 census so there is possibility for error) and by 1836 they were living in Illinois and had one son named Marion. Then they moved on to Mo where the rest of thier children were born. In 1850 they were living in Carroll county Arkansas and all the children were listed as being born in Mo accept Marion. I have speculated since they all lived so close to the Mo border, (Carroll county is on the border with Mo) that they may have believed they were in Mo when they may have been in Ark all along. I dont have any census records at all of them living in Mo or any other McGehee's during the right time frame for that matter. Their children were: Marion, 1836 Ill (no information at all)

Sampson 1845 Mo (Married "Delia")

The birth years may be off by one or two. I am not looking at it right now Im doing this by memory. but they are not of by more than that. If you need me too I can get you exact dates. Anyway, The James born in 1847 is my Great grandfather. He was killed in Jack county around 1880 after his wife had already died in late 1870's. His son, my grandfather was Albert Lee McGehee, who was born in 1868 in texas, probably Grayson County. Albert Lee had three brothers and one sister. His brothers were James Frank McGehee, Thomas M McGehee and John W McGehee. His sister was Mary Ellen McGehee. Albert Lee died in 1935 in Mason county Texas. He married Dona Gertrude Stone in 1909 and they had seven Kids. According to my information when James (Albert's father) died Albert Lee was old enough to take care of himself, however he still went to live with his uncle Ben Elder, probably in Montague county. Mary Ellen went to live with her mothers cousin, John Hedgecoke. James Frank, who went by "Frank" went to live with another Hedgecoke Cousin in Witchita Falls, and Thomas M McGehee, or "Tom" as He was called went to live in LIberal Kansas with another Hedgecoke cousin. Tom's story is the least documented or understood of all. He may have died young, Im not sure. Finally John W, or "Johnny" went to live with a Doctor in the area. His family still lives in Jack county. I have contacted some of them. Anyway, That is about it. I cant think of anything else off the top of my head. My big searches now is for Tom and Franks families, why and where Carintha A Died, and then of course anything I can find about my great great grandfather John and his past or family. -Would like to connect with anyone researching their Grubbs ancestors. I am having a very difficult time. My GGGrandfather was George Washington GRUBBS (B. 1845) in Indiana Co., PA. His mother was Jane GRAHAM, daughter of William and Prudence (Green) Graham (also living in Indiana CO.) Jane was married to (or had a child to) Jacob GRUBBS. I have researched the PA Grubbs for nearly a year and have had no luck IDing Jacob. Now I would like to trace other Grubbs lines to try to determine if I have any ties. GGGrandfather George served with the 103rd Pa Vol. in the Civil WAr and was captured and held prisoner in Andersonville Prison. Grubbs family stories abound. The family is adamant about these stories being true. The Grubbs are descended from royalty (?). The Grubbs have Indian blood (Morningstar Grubbs)(?). And the Grubbs may have African-American blood as well (?) If you have heard any of these stories (or can validate them) please let me know. I'm at a dead end and really need help from other Grubbs researchers. Thank you!!

We are looking for George Hall born in 1818 may be listed under G.W. Hall. I have no idea what county. he was married to an Emma we think this may also have been a second wife the first wife rumored to be an Indian and probably the mother of Charles. We know he was in Missoura by 1880. He had a Son named Charles who also may have been born in Kent. there may also have been a son Elija. born in Kentucky. I am trying to locate information on my great grand parents, Agusta Hall, first name could have possibly been Argustus or Agustus. He was born March 22, 1852 and died Feb. 11, 1942. I don't find any death record in Kentucky, he might of died in Ohio. His wife was Evaline Morefield born Oct. 1, 1853 and died Feb. 11, 1942. There had 6 children: Emma Hall born Dec. 1, 1878, David Frank Hall born Jan. 13, 1885, Willie H. Hall born March 30, 1887, John Edward Hall born Sept. 16, 1889 and died Sept. 11, 1910 in world war one. John Edward Hall was my grandfather. Sarah Ellen Hall born Dec. 21, 1894 and James Roy Hall born July 21, 1898. I have information on a Margaret Waters family, back several generations. What I am searching for is: she had three children by a William Fain, born in Jessamine County. They were Ruth, Jane and Buddy. I don't believe the parents ever married. These three children were placed in an orphange in Kentucky, two were adopted and one was left until of age. Question: Who the heck is William Fain? I have no dates and no one to help me. He was killed when he was ran over by a buggy. That is all I know. Margaret married some time later to a Lytle, from Ohio and had 9 other kids. She died several years ago, two months short of her 100th birthday. Anyone with info on Fain families, let me know. They are listed in the 1850 Kentucky census, but this information was from sources in Arkansas where they moved. Thus, we don't know the county. Margaret we believe was born in Kentucky, ca.1808, but again I don't know where.
