BOURASSA, Louis died 8 July 1819 at age 27 years at the home of Antoine Flore at la Pointe Noire after being strengthened with all sacraments, buried 9 July 1819 in the parish cemetery. Fr. Flavius Henri Rossi (Opelousas Church v. 1, p. 177)
Louis was the son of Charles and Magdelene Lalande. There was a Clothilde Bourassa listed on a plat of Township 7 South, Range 2 East. She may be the same “Cloline” Bourassa married to Charles Bourassa, fils in the succession of Charles Bourassa dated July 1810.
SIMAR, Louis, native of St. Martin parish of Attakapas and inhabitant of this parish of St. Landry for many years. He is the minor son of the deceased Louis – originally from Quebec in Canada and Marie Rose Trahan – widow of Jean Baptiste Duplecahin – inhabitants of this parish in LA POINTE NOIRE area married 24 July 1816 Francoise Granger – native of this parish an inhabiting the Plaquemine Brulees area; widow of Hylaire Dousset the major daughter of Joseph Grange and Marie Babin). Francoise Granger has a brother named Jean Baptiste that owns land in Section 45, Township 7 South, Range 2 East.
