LAURENT THIBODEAUX MAKES VIOLIN
CP Democrat May 8, 1909
It cannot be disproved that Church
Point can boast of a very competent wood worker, and this party in none other
than the trusty smith, Laurent Thibodeaux. He has just completed one of the
most perfect violins probably ever made. The instrument is made of oak and
neatly carved. He has not yet varnished it. The tone is excellent, and one
cannot tell it was not made by the regular violin makers. Laurent is somewhat
proud of this, his first attempt at such a feat, and he being a violin player
it is not probable he could be induced to part with the same. He is now making
another one, which will be made a little different, that is different material
will be used for some parts.
