FIRE IN CHURCH POINT
Crowley Signal February 17, 1922
Fire Thursday night totally
destroyed the two-story residence of Arville Richard who lives three miles east
of Church Point. All of the furniture and household goods on the first floor
were saved, but that upstairs was an entire loss. Two hundred gallons of syrup
stored upstairs also were destroyed.
The fire thought to have been
caused by sparks from the chimney falling on the roof. The loss is estimated
$4,000, with no insurance.
