Crowley Signal August 12, 1899
The police jury met at Crowley Tuesday, August 8, 1899. Honor. B.E. Clark, president, with all members present.
Motion of Adam Reed, Dr. M.P. Fenelon, Jesse Reed and W.S. Robertson are hereby authorized to have a bridge of seventy-five feet built on the major gully near Iota, and to report to the police jury the cost of same when completed.
Motion of J.E. Daigle, donation from Gerand Sonnier is hereby accepted.
Motion of W.W. Duson, right-of-way from Joachin Richard and others is hereby accepted and wire and posts allowed to Joachin Richard to make his fence along said road, and Eugena Cormier, Nicholas Cormier and Eugene Trahan are hereby appointed to see the construction of the bridge over Lyons Point gully.
Motion Cesaire Breaux, the following committee is hereby appointed to build the Faulk bridge: Edward Faulk, J.M. Huff and J.W. Adcock, and to report the cost of same when completed.
Motion of J.E. Daigle, Mrs Francois Langley is hereby placed on the indigent list.
Motion Adam Reed, the controversy on the Gay road is hereby laid over till the next regular meeting.
Vilare Bergeaux is hereby appointed overseer in place of Edmond Ortego.
Ulysse Aguillard, is hereby appointed overseer on road from parish line to intersect the Prudhomme road.
Benjamin Johnson is appointed overseer on road from parish line to ward line.
Willie Clark is hereby appointed road overseer on Bayou Que de Tortue to parish line.
