Last Sunday immediately after high mass, in front of the Catholic Church a prohibition meeting was held in the open. Edward Daigle called the meeting to order and introduced Mr. Philip Chappuis, of Crowley, who made a short talk in French. Judge Pugh, of Crowley, was next, and made a strong argument in favor of prohibition in English. Hon. E.O. Bruner, of Rayne was then called on for an address, and __________ ___________ ______
Intention of speaking was not prepared. Before he was through he hand convincingly demonstrated that he needed no time for preparation.
Immediately after the harangues, a branch probation league was organized. Edward Daigle was selected Chairman, Homer Barousse Vice-Chairman, Laurent Barousse Secretary, Albert T. Richard, Treasurer, they to have authority to enlarge the league in the vicinity.
