The photographs at the top were taken in late October 2009 after record-breaking rains dumped more than 20 inches of rain
on the Ouachita Valley region, flooding homes and roads in Union Parish. The photos show the flood waters at the
Lake D'Arbonne Spillway. The lake (to the right) is ordinarily much higher than the bayou (to the left), but the
flood waters made the bayou at the same level as the lake. Thanks to Mr. Scott Beder, editor of the Farmerville
