This web site contains links and queries for those of you researching your family history from Baltimore City. Please note that the City boundaries pertain to just a small amount of area within the actual county of Baltimore,  however the City of Baltimore is an independent city and not part of the county. If you are unsure whether or not your research centers in the city proper please make sure to visit our Baltimore County web site. The Baltimore County web site does contain some archive material that will overlap in the city.

The photo in the banner is one that I took when I visited Ft McHenry in June 2007.

I would like to give thank to all of the people who have submitted information for this web site.  Without you this page would not be what it is.  I live in Oregon so it is very difficult for me to get information to put on the site, and my local libraries don't have a lot of Baltimore information.  I have tried to remember to put each of your names on the pages with the information you have submitted but if I have forgotten any one please forgive me.

How You Can Help

I am trying my best to get information to put up on this web site that will help everyone doing research in Baltimore.  However since I do not live in Baltimore it is difficult for me to get a lot of information.  Therefore I am asking you for help.  If you live in or near Baltimore and would like to help this web site grow and can go to Archives, Court House, City Hall, Churches, Cemeteries or any where that the records are waiting to be transcribed please contact me.  I am also looking for people who would like to do lookups for others.  So if you have books that you can look names up in or would like to go to the Court House or local library to look up something please contact me so that I can put your name and email address on a look up page.

If you have any Baltimore City information that may be of help to others please contact me so that I can add it to the pages.  Examples of things you may have that might help others are, Bible, marriage, birth, death, or divorce records, census transcription (even if it is only a couple of pages) cemetery transcriptions (even the few graves you have copied because they are family) wills, probate records, church membership list and there are probably many more.  Letters, diary's anything that list names and things that were going on at the time that might be of interest to others.  Another idea is old photos of Baltimore and the people who lived there

I WILL GIVE YOU FULL CREDIT FOR ANYTHING YOU SUBMIT
