On this third day of March A.D. one thousand eight hundred and fifty one, personally appeared before me, Basil Root a Justice of the Peace duly authorised to administer oaths within and for the County and State aforesaid, David Carson aged 65 years, a resident of Baltimore County in the State of Maryland who being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is the identical David Carson who was a private in the Company commanded by Captain Michael Peters in the Fifty first Regiment of Maryland Militia commanded by Lieut. Col. Henry Amey in the war with Great Britain Declared by the United States on the 18th day of June 1812, that he entered the service at Baltimore on or about the Month of July A. D. 1814 for the term of six months unless sooner discharged, and continued in actual service in said war for the term he does not recollect how long, and was honorably discharged at Baltimore on (inserted are words or about) the Eighteeth day of November A.D. 1814 as will appear by the Muster Rolls of said Company, and he served a tour(?) in 1813.
