 "Last Will and Testament"

In the name of God Amen

    I Charles Thompson of Baltimore city being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time this of and being desirous of settling my world affairs and thereby the better prepared to leave this world when it shall please God to call me hence do therefore make and publish this as my last will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say.

  

 First and principally. I commit my soul into the hands of the Almighty God and my body to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executrix her after named.

    After my debts and funeral expenses are paid I devise and bequeath as follows:

  

  First I desire that Two Thousand dollars due by me to my daughter Elizabeth De Speyr shall be paid and that the mortgage due from {Name not readable } Coukey to me for 1500 shall be used for the purpose of part paying the said debt to my daughter and that the balance of that debt and what other debts I may owe at the time of my death may be paid out of the proceeds of the sale of my property on Mulberry Street, which I desire shall be disposed of for this purpose. I devise and bequeath  all of my property wherever {? tauate } real, personal and {???} of whatever kinds or description unto my beloved wife Susan Thompson for and during the tenure of her natural life. She is to have controls of the income therefrom and after her death I give and bequeath my entire property to my two daughters Elizabeth A. De Speyr  and Rachel Ann Carter to be equally divided between them. This to cover also the property conveyed by me to my beloved wife Susan Thompson by assignment

dated December 31, 1877 and Recorded among the Land Records of Baltimore City in Liber G.R.N{?}797 Folio 473 {? te} which reverts to me or my estate at the death of my said wife.

   

    And lastly, I do hereby constitute and appoint my dear wife Susan Thompson to be sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament revoking and annulling all former wills by me  made ratifying and confirming this and none other to be my last will and Testament.

     In the  testimony whereof I hereto set my hand and seal this twenty-second day of December in the year Eighteen Hundred and Eighty Three .

Signed sealed published and declared by the above named Charles Thompson as and for his last Will and Testament in our presence who at his {??} in the presence and in the presence of each other thereto set our {??} as witnesses hereto.
