We had a darling Hettie once,
She was our darling pride,
We loved her, oh, perhaps too much,
Too well, for soon, oh, soon she died.

Is there a sorrow
Seems greater than this,
Knowing to-morrow
We press the last kiss?

Bear away gently
Our idol to dust;
Father, in Heaven.
To Thee we entrust(?)

Gone far from evil,
All is now well;
Taken from suffering
In glory to dwell.
The funeral will take place this (Friday) morning, at ten o'clock, from the residence of her grandfather, corner of William and Montgomery streets.

Aged 2 years, 6 months
Lillie May Bomberger
Died July 3, 1868
Age 1 year
Died: Suddenly on the 1st instant, Laura Virginia, aged 2 years, 6 months, also on the 3rd , Lillie May, aged 1 year, children of John W. and Catherine Ann Bomberger.
Who can feel a mother’s grief
Who can sooth her pain
It’s hope alone can give relief
That we shall meet again.
My Laura and my Lillie gone
They were all I had to give
They are gone to join the throng
In Jesus’ arms to live.
 They were blossoms of my heart
Death set their spirits free
They were tender ties to part
Mothers, sympathize for me.
  “The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away, blessed be the name of the Lord.”
