Baltimore Soldier Dies in Texas

Word has been received here of the death at Big Springs, Texas, of Private Melvin V Covell, 20, of 3101 Rueckert avenue.
Private Covell enlisted at the army recruiting station in Baltimore one year ago and ws transferred to an army flying school at Midland, Texas.  Three weeks ago, he was sent to a school at Big Spring, where he died September 18, from an accidentally inflicted wound.
Surving are his father, Joel Covell; two brothers, Oliver and Sergt. Wilburn Covell; and three sisters, Eileen, Mrs Charlotte Phillips of Baltimore and Mrs Eleanor Hunter of Washington.  Burial will be in the Parkwood Cemetery.
