Oren Branson his last Will and Testament
"In the name of God amen, I Oren Branson now an Enlisted Soldier in the
fourteenth Regiment of Infantry in the Service of the United States being about
to March in said Service and calling to mind the uncertainty of life and being
willing to settle all my Worldly Concerns in case it shall please God to call me
from this life do make this my last will and Testament in manner and form
following to wit. I Give devise and Bequeath after my death unto my dear friend
Peter Uyant? (or Wyant) Junior of the City of Baltimore in Baltimore County in
the State of Maryland all my right Title claim and Interest to and in all the
Land that I shall be entitled to for my Services in the Army of the United
States and to his heirs and Assigns forever and also I Give and Bequeath unto
said Peter Uyant all such arms Clothing and Arrearages of Bounty and pay as
shall be due and owing to me by reason of my said Service in the Army of the
United States. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my!
hand and affixed my seal this twenty third day of April Eighteen hundred and
fourteen.
