Book 5, 15 Apr 1795
 
"In the name of God amen I Charles Defay now in Baltimore in the state of Maryland and Citizen thereof heretofore residing in the Island of St. Domingo being at present Indisposed in body but of sound and disposing mind and memory, do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament.  In the First place I give and bequeath unto my loving sisters Fanjug the wife of Thos. Gibert and Polier the wife of Demaray and my niece Eugenie Sandre all my Estate of whatsoever kind which I possess in the world to be Equally divided between my said sisters and niece share and share alike.  I do hereby appoint my friend John Casrere? of Baltimore Town Merchant the Executor of this my Last Will and Testament hereby requesting him to settle and adjust all my affairs of whatever kind in America or else where, and to pay over the neat amount of my Estate to the Legatees before named according to the direction before given as witness my hand and seal this fifteenth of April 1795

published and declared to
be the Last Will and Testamt.
