 Nuncupative Will


"The nun Cupative Will of Hugh Crea deceased as established and admitted to record by the Orphans Court of Baltimore County on the 5th day of April 1815. See their order. Edward Vernard and Lewis Carpenter being duly Sworn depose and say that on the twenty sixth day of February last past a certain Hugh Crea Quarter Gunner on Board the Armed Brig Chassun? (could be Chasseus)Commanded by Captain Thomas Boyle a short time before he was killed declared and observed that in case of his death he wished all his property and prize money should be possessed by John Wood residing in Baltimore as he was his best friend that the said Crea at the time of his making the said Declaration was in his perfect Sense and recollection that the said Crea appeared to have made this declaration with a view that the deponents might notice it. That they have frequently heard the said Crea before that day say that Wood was to have his prize money and property in case of his death.

John Wells, George Anderson & Dennis Brown being also duly sworn depose and say they heard Hugh Crea say on the day he was killed and before that in case anything happened to him that John Wood residing in Baltimore and with whom he the said Crea had Boarded should Possess all his property & prize money and at the time of his so saying he was in his proper senses. Sworn to in open Court 5th April 1815"
