John R. Cowen his last Will and Testament

"I John R. Cowen mariner on Board the privateer Schooner Surprise considering the uncertainty of life do make publish and declare this my last will and Testament as follows to wit. I Give devise and Bequeath all my Estate whether of a real or personal nature of which I may be possessed and to which I may be entitled at the time of my decease to John Numlin of the City of New York to have and to hold the same to him his heirs and assigns forever. I nominate Constitute and appoint said John Numlin sole Executor of this my last will and Testament and hereby revoke all former wills by me made."
