This is the will of Nicholas Ridgely - another one. His parents were William
Ridgely and Mary Orrick. (I looked him up.) He married Anne, widow of John
Sappington, and his children were Lot, Nicholas Orrick, and Anne. Nicholas
Orrick Ridgely married Ann Croxall and Anne Ridgely married Wm. Wellmore.
"I, Nicholas Ridgely of the City of Baltimore, being weak in body but of
sound and disposing mind, memory, and understanding, do make and publish this my
last will and testament, in manner and form following - namely: - First, - After
my debts and funeral expenses are paid, I devise and bequeath as follows. Item,
I give and bequeath unto Ann Turner the sum of Two hundred and fifty dollars, to
be paid to her, in Specie out of my Estate, at the discretion of my Executrix
herein after named. - Item, I give and bequeath unto Cale Sappington, son of
John, to be paid to him in Specie, out of my Estate, at the discretion of my
Executrix herein after named, the sum of One hundred dollars. - Residuary Item.
- I finally devise and bequeath unto my dutiful and affectionate daughter, Ann,
Wife of William Wellmore, her heirs and assigns, forever, All the rest, residue
and remainder of my Estate, of every description, real or personal, to be by her
held, enjoyed and disposed of independe!
ntly and to the entire exclusion of her present, or any future Husband she may
have. - Finally - I do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my said Daughter
Ann Wellmore, sole Executrix of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking
and annulling all former wills by me heretofore made, ratifying and confirming
this, and this only, to be my last will and testament. In Testimony whereof, I
have hereunto set my hand and seal, this first day of June Eighteen hundred and
twenty nine."
